Russell Crotty
Born California 1956. Lives Malibu
MAM added one of Russell Crotty's globe drawings from our Russell Crotty - Globe Drawings exhibition in its New Work series to our permanent collection. In honor of long-standing MAM trustee Patricia Papper, MAM commissioned Crotty to create a globe of the night skies over the Everglades as a lasting tribute to Florida's unique natural resource.
“Some drawings are faithful observations of planets and stars. Others, like the globe with a meteor shower radiating over a silhouetted landscape—just completed for a show of his work at Miami Art Museum through June 27—are more romantic accounts of Mr. Crotty’s experience of a night and a place.”
