Miami Art Museum welcomes university and college professors and students and invites them to consider the Museum as a place of engagement as well as an educational resource. 

The Museum exhibits international art from the 20th and 21st century with a focus on the cultures of the Atlantic Rim—the Americas, Europe, and Africa.  Information on current exhibitions is available here


Admission

College and university students with valid ID may visit the museum free any day of the week.  Note: free admission is not available for special events.  


Guided Visits


1pm – 4pm Tuesday through Friday; occasional morning hours available
Noon – 4pm Saturday and Sunday
Free guided tours of the exhibitions are designed to encourage an understanding of modern and contemporary art and introduce the work of specific artists.  Visits are led by trained docents or education staff and are approximately sixty minutes in length.  Groups must be accompanied by faculty.  Minimum 6 students 


Self-guided Visits


1pm – 4pm Tuesday through Friday; occasional morning hours available
MDC Day at MAMNoon – 4pm Saturday and Sunday
University professors may choose to bring students to the museum on their own, at no charge, during regular viewing hours as part of their course of study.  Please notify the Museum in advance if you are planning a self-guided visit to ensure your trip does not coincide with other group visits.  Museum-led tours take precedence.

 

Public Lectures


Lectures are generally free with admission and thus free to students. Contact Education to verify. 

 

Archives


MAM Soundbomb Bus at Miami Dade CollegeArchival information on collection artists including Miami artists is available in the Curatorial Department.  Archives are available to faculty and qualified students conducting research.  By appointment only.

 

Appointments with Staff


Staff members in various departments may be available to meet with classes to provide information on the museum, its programs and activities.
