November 14, 2003 - January 18, 2004
New Work Gallery
Miami
Art Museum presents the first museum exhibition in the United States
of collaborative works by artists
Janine Antoni and Paul Ramírez
Jonas. The exhibition is comprised of two major installations,
including a new sculptural installation created specifically for MAM’s
exhibition and Always New, Always Familiar of 2000, a room-sized
video installation that consists of sound and images recorded simultaneously
from the front and back of a moving boat. Together, the works serve
as poetic metaphors for the nature of relationships, stressing
separation, union, and the passage of time.
Organized by Miami Art Museum as part of its New Work
series of projects by contemporary artists. Curated by MAM Curator
Lorie Mertes.
