MIAMI ART MUSEUM NAMES FOUR NEW TRUSTEES
Miami Art
Museum recently elected four new members to its board of trustees:
Aaron I. Fleischman, Pamela
Garrison, George Lindemann and William Parker. These
new board members will advise the Miami Art Museum,
South Florida's flagship art museum, on ways to further
advance its community programming and outreach.
"Our board of trustees, including community,
business and cultural leaders with diverse backgrounds,
is one of the Miami Art Museum's biggest assets," said
MAM Director Suzanne Delehanty. "Their community
involvement, passion for the visual arts, and professional
expertise will continue to make MAM one of South Florida's
strongest cultural institutions." Their collective
efforts will work toward the revitalization of downtown
Miami and help make Greater Miami a global capital
in the 21st century."
The new trustees are as follows:
Aaron I. Fleischman is senior partner of Fleischman
and Walsh, L.L.P., a Washington, D.C. law firm with
a communities, utilities, legislative, litigation,
transportation, corporate and securities focus. In
addition to being an art collector, he is a member
of the District of Columbia Bar and Federal Communications
Bar Association. Presently, and in the recent past,
Fleischman served on the boards of various public companies
and art museums, including the Whitney Museum of American
Art in New York. He
is also a member of the Trustees Council of the National
Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
Pamela Garrison,
a native Floridian, is a recovery room nurse in South
Florida. A sports enthusiast and
former ski patrol nurse in Taos, New Mexico. Garrison
is an avid traveler who loves photography. She is
a former board member of the Florida Philharmonic and
current board member of the Miami City Ballet.
George
Lindemann is a general manager of B.C. Property Investments,
L.C., a pioneer in redeveloping office
space on Biscayne Boulevard. He is a member of the
Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Performing Arts
Center Foundation (P.A.C.), the Executive Committee
of the P.A.C. and Co-chairman of the P.A.C. Next Generation
Committee. He serves as a member of the City of Miami
Arts & Entertainment Council and is the Vice President
of Miami Dade Chapter of the A.C.L.U.
William Parker is
the co-founder of Washington Cable Supply, Inc. Under
his leadership, the company grew
to become the seventh largest African-American owned
business in the United States. Parker has received
numerous corporate and community awards based on
significant professional and humanitarian achievements.
He supports
and mentors people striving to achieve their educational
and professional goals through corporate outreach
programs such as the Summer College Tour and Capitol
Commitment.
Parker donates his free time to several community
activities including volunteer work, charitable foundations,
community
councils and his church.
